The Pilot Church Program at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection (COR) seeks to develop a ministry whereby small to mid sized churches may choose to affiliate with COR along the lines of the British “circuit” model where large churches serve as anchors for, and partners with, smaller churches. The Foundation for Evangelism is providing grant support for COR to pilot a program where small churches might receive training from Resurrection, weekly sermons on video, print materials to help them invite their friends and access to other COR curricula and training resources. The model has been tested for a year and launches in 2012. Ultimately Church of the Resurrection’s goal would be to help create a new model for ministry whereby other larger vibrant churches might partner with struggling churches to help them grow.
