Distinguished Evangelist Award

The Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church Award honors an individual whose personal ministry in evangelism is recognized throughout the denomination.

Criteria for Nominees is:

  • United Methodist clergy or lay person now living who has made extraordinary accomplishments helping people experience God’s tranforming love through Jesus Christ in the Wesleyan tradition.
  • An individual devoted in mind and heart to a holistic evangelism that incorporates both the personal and social aspects of the Christian faith
  • A person whose service to The United Methodist Church has been marked by loyalty and effectiveness
  • An individual whose personal life reflects the quality and attractiveness of the Christian religion at its best.
