There are a number of events sponsored by various agencies and organizations in The United Methodist Church. While not all of these events are sponsored by The Foundation for Evangelism, we list them here for your information.
Navigating Change: A Dialogue with Shane Bishop
A fast-paced discussion on 21st century church growth led by Rev. Shane Bishop, 2010 Distinguished Evangelist of the United Methodist Church.
Discover God’s Call
A ministry for the laity, developed to assist participants in identifying their God-given spiritual gifts and how to use these gifts. Participants in the program are guided by spiritual leaders to develop an understanding of how to use these gifts in ministry within their local church, community, and family.
Wallace Chappell Lectures
The Wallace Chappell Lecture is funded by an endowment gift from The Wallace Chappell Ministries, Inc., through The Foundation for Evangelism in honor of Wallace and Mary Frances Chappell. These lectures are delivered at United Methodist seminaries to enable the selected school to bring to its campus a national or world leader in Christian evangelism for a series of inspirational lectures.
Refresh Campus Ministry Conference
United Methodist-related campus ministers and chaplains gather each year in early December for the purpose of being inspired, trained, and refreshed. The Foundation provides substantial financial support for this event.
The Congress on Evangelism – Denman Lectures
These lectures on evangelism are delivered every other year at the Congress on Evangelism. The Foundation for Evangelism’s Board of Trustees makes the selection of the Denman Lecturer in consultation with the Council on Evangelism. (Note: Next Denman Lecture will be held in 2013)
